Care for a laugh?

What I lack in pop culture knowledge and references I make up for in obscure online videos.

The series of Neg's Urban Sports is one of my favorites. It's about a dude in the UK who makes up ridiculous sports in a city setting, and then films them.

Here are some of my favorites, and are must sees to understand some of the idiosyncrasies I display on a daily basis:

My ball - Neg interferes in public soccer games and tries to steal the ball.

Big Stranger Rodea -  Jump on a stranger's back and stay off the ground for as long as possible...
Big Euro Stranger Rodeo -Big European version

Neg's Burger Bowl Off - My favorite of the bunch

There are a bunch more, but these are the ones I found the most enjoyable.

Figuring this out

Learning to post on a Mac. Please hold.

Ch-ch-ch-changes!

I've been keeping to my New Year's resolution of "upgrading" my life.

I've been consistently exposing myself to movies and shows to grow a "pop-culture" bone. I used to keep a list of all the movies I've been watching, but like anything that requires consistent discipline, I stopped. Doesn't mean I've stopped watching movies though. I think I've seen more movies over the past 6 months than I have in my entire life.

Same goes with TV. Shows I'm a fan of: Dexter, Six Feet Under, Penn and Teller's Bullshit, South Park, and on occasion (I repeat, on occasion) Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

In February I got my Droid boyfriend which easily simplified (or complicated?) my life. I still feel like I'm new to all the features it offers which is awesome because whenever I have free time, I just pull out my phone and play. Boredom will never be an issue again! (unless maybe my battery dies...#sadpanda)

Early this year, I also caved into another social media black hole - Twitter - but now I can't remember not having an account. I've gotten more out of Twitter in the past couple months than I did in the years I've had a Facebook. I'm still a fan of the book, but when it comes to a tight network of people, nothing comes close to the friends I've made and the experiences I've had through the site.

Also in February, I got promoted to Special Sections Editor. Being in my early 20's, it's pretty fucking awesome that I have "editor" in my job title. Pretty. Legit. #tootoot

And the year is not yet over! Today will mark another turning point in me updating my life: I'm buying a MacBook Pro. I can't even begin to express the excitement I have for this shiny piece of technological goodness. My HP is 5 years old and I rarely even turn it on at home anymore since it takes too much to think. While purchasing my first Mac today, I'll also be able to fix (replace) the little iPod Nathan gave me (since it crapped out on me #ipodkiller) and I'll be able to get a deal on another iPod since Mac is offering a rebate with a purchase of a computer (as long as you're a student).

Speaking being a student, I have officially declared to "go back to school" and get an associate's degree in graphic design. I am currently taking a sociology class at COC, and I start with design classes this fall. Technically, I've never stopped going to school. When I graduated from UCI, I started taking classes at COC right away. I've been taking college classes consistently for the past 7 years. HA! I love being a student.

I've also started a new journey in the automobile industry. Although I didn't plan this in January when I first made my New Year's resolution, I welcome it with open arms since it fits nicely in my theme.

I'm getting a new vehicle, and it won't be a SAAB! *shock*

I'm lucky to have very loving friends who are helping me swim through this tumultuous sea of getting a car, and I'm really excited to find a car and a deal that will work for me and my crazy, active and unpredictable lifestyle. So far, I'm a big fan of Subarus... but we'll see. I'm just excited about driving a car and NOT worrying about having my air conditioning break, my CD skip, my car seat to jam, my bumper falling off, my roof being slashed, or my car engine exploding.

Langer's Mention

A bunch of my tweeps and I went on a Sandwich train last Saturday (blog to come) and we ate at a place called Langer's.

Lady Ducayne blogged about it and the restaurant linked it on their site! Check it out here. The photo is of the sandwhich Nathan and I split!

Read reviews (including mine) about it on Yelp.

Yelp reviews

I've been randomly yelping here and there and it's a lot of fun. The community is the best part.

Check out my most recent yelps. I need to be more consistent. But that'll never happen. It's like saying I need to be more consistent in posting blogs. :)

Shiggity shiggity shwa

Yeah you like that, idiot. I got it, you don't. Shut up.

Spacers suck

There is no reason to double space anymore. If you do it, stop it. It is unnecessary and annoying.

And those of you who find it necessary to triple, or quadruple, space... you should die a horrible, painful death.

Ban divorce

If gays can't get married - because it would destroy the definition of marriage - than people shouldn't be allowed to get a divorce... which completely destroys a marriage.

Right?

Too bad the initiative did not receive enough support to be put on the ballot this year.

Maybe next year.

Grumpy pants

I woke up in a funk today. No reason for it, really. Nothing concrete at least. There are a few things that are minuscule but slowly building up. My expectations are not being met. I tend not to expect much in the first place, and so when the little expectations that I do have are not met, I get a little annoyed.

One of which is me. I, being a Gemini with a rising Aries, am particularly hard on myself. I am currently not happy and feel like I need to do something.

One of the more pressing annoyances is work and how little I get paid. It's bullshit. How does someone get promoted without receiving a raise? So janky.

So I went and read about what the universe has to say about all of this. This is what she had to say:

"The Full moon (Feb. 28) falls in your 4th house of home, family, and property issues. This could be an emotional full moon for you as the moon falls at the bottom of your chart and squares your sun. Difficulties on the home front or within your family could result. Someone may be hypercritical or hard to please. It’s possible that you’re left disappointed about something at work, which could include finances or employee benefits. Whatever develops may take until March 2 before the energy subsides."

Yep. Thought so.
