I've been keeping to my New Year's resolution of "upgrading" my life.
I've been consistently exposing myself to movies and shows to grow a "pop-culture" bone. I used to keep a list of all the movies I've been watching, but like anything that requires consistent discipline, I stopped. Doesn't mean I've stopped watching movies though. I think I've seen more movies over the past 6 months than I have in my entire life.
Same goes with TV. Shows I'm a fan of: Dexter, Six Feet Under, Penn and Teller's Bullshit, South Park, and on occasion (I repeat, on occasion) Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
In February I got my Droid boyfriend which easily simplified (or complicated?) my life. I still feel like I'm new to all the features it offers which is awesome because whenever I have free time, I just pull out my phone and play. Boredom will never be an issue again! (unless maybe my battery dies...#sadpanda)
Early this year, I also caved into another social media black hole - Twitter - but now I can't remember not having an account. I've gotten more out of Twitter in the past couple months than I did in the years I've had a Facebook. I'm still a fan of the book, but when it comes to a tight network of people, nothing comes close to the friends I've made and the experiences I've had through the site.
Also in February, I got promoted to Special Sections Editor. Being in my early 20's, it's pretty fucking awesome that I have "editor" in my job title. Pretty. Legit. #tootoot
And the year is not yet over! Today will mark another turning point in me updating my life: I'm buying a MacBook Pro. I can't even begin to express the excitement I have for this shiny piece of technological goodness. My HP is 5 years old and I rarely even turn it on at home anymore since it takes too much to think. While purchasing my first Mac today, I'll also be able to fix (replace) the little iPod Nathan gave me (since it crapped out on me #ipodkiller) and I'll be able to get a deal on another iPod since Mac is offering a rebate with a purchase of a computer (as long as you're a student).
Speaking being a student, I have officially declared to "go back to school" and get an associate's degree in graphic design. I am currently taking a sociology class at COC, and I start with design classes this fall. Technically, I've never stopped going to school. When I graduated from UCI, I started taking classes at COC right away. I've been taking college classes consistently for the past 7 years. HA! I love being a student.
I've also started a new journey in the automobile industry. Although I didn't plan this in January when I first made my New Year's resolution, I welcome it with open arms since it fits nicely in my theme.
I'm getting a new vehicle, and it won't be a SAAB! *shock*
I'm lucky to have very loving friends who are helping me swim through this tumultuous sea of getting a car, and I'm really excited to find a car and a deal that will work for me and my crazy, active and unpredictable lifestyle. So far, I'm a big fan of Subarus... but we'll see. I'm just excited about driving a car and NOT worrying about having my air conditioning break, my CD skip, my car seat to jam, my bumper falling off, my roof being slashed, or my car engine exploding.

stop exposing yourself at movies
I'm going to go by paragraph:
1) *thumbs up* Yay!
2) *thumbs up* Yay!
3) Yay! Srsly, I don't think ASiP is funny. It's up there with The Office in the "I don't get it" department.
4) Complicated! :)
5) *thumbs up* Yay!
6) *thumbs up* Super yay!
7) Exciting!
8) Ugh, stop going to school already. Grow up!! Haha.
11) The last sentence of this post just does it for me. Love it.
